11 hours of driving through west TX is like driving through a post apocalyptic film set or the most depressing movie ever. Don't get me wrong, the scenery can be absolutely gorgeous but to the people living in the tiny towns spread out every 100 miles with a total population of 200--how do you do it? I can't imagine a life in the middle of nowhere, but then again I do live in a big city and sometimes that even feels too small. More power to you, all I can say is I was so happy to see civilization again when passing through Roswell (yes, Roswell felt populated--they had fast food!) This stretch of the trip was really eye-opening for me and I am so grateful for the traveling family I was brought up into and my beautiful home in Boston. With this leg of the trip over I am excited to see AZ-- Phoenix has been on my list for years.
